It’s here! Ruff Reads 2024!
We’d be lying if we said we didn’t totally geek out over choosing the Ruff Reads selections each year. And this season is no exception! Join us as we read and discuss these exciting works, and take a look at how they might help us further understand the themes and ideas found in Shakespeare’s The Tempest as we gear up for Ruff’s 2024 summer production.
March: Mrs. Caliban by Rachel Ingalls
April: The Great White Bard by Farah Karim-Cooper
May: I’ll Be The Devil by Leo Butler
June: Prospero’s Daughter by Elizabeth Nunez
Once again, Ruff Reads is thrilled to be partnering with our favourite east end bookshop, Queen Books. Stop by to pick up your copies and receive 10% off with the code RUFFREADS. (*Please note that Prospero’s Daughter is not currently available from the QB distributors, but all other selections will be in store!). The Ruff Reads titles are also available as e-books and through the Toronto Public Library.
Ruff Reads meets monthly on Zoom (maybe sometimes in person??) as well as sharing additional content and ancillary reads through our Instagram account, @shakesruffreads. Give us a follow! Message us through our socials or email christine@shakespeareintheruff.com to receive reminders and Zoom links for meetings.
Happy reading, everyone!
